Precision Agriculture - Main
This is the home page of the Precision Agriculture program at the Citrus Research and Education Center.
Our research is responsive to the changing requirements of the Florida citrus industry in the 21st century. Major thrust areas are site-specific management (variable rate technology, GIS/GPS, yield monitoring), and sensing and control systems (remote sensing, wireless communication and automation, real-time measurement of tree canopies and soil properties, and new technologies for stress, diseases, pests and quality detection). Precision Agriculture is an integral component of modern Best Management Practices (BMPs) for long-term sustainable citrus production and environmental protection.
