12/9/13 The Auburndale/Lake Alfred CHMA will be conducting a coordinated spray for control of Asian Citrus Psyllids starting today. The mode of action for this spray will be a Pyrethroid (Mustang or Danitol). Please follow all label instructions for the spray material that is chosen.
There will be a plane available to help aid the application of this spray. Contact Grower Coordinator Gary Anderson if you would like to utilize the plane or if you have any questions.
4/8/13 The Auburndale/Lake Alfred CHMA will be conducting a Coordinated Spray for Asian Citrus Psyllid. The spray will start on April 10th and continue through April 24th. The selected mode of action for this application is an Organophosphate (Lorsban, Dimethoate, Imidan). Please follow all label instructions for the material that is chosen.
An airplane will be available for this spray. Contact CHMA Coordinator Gary Anderson for more information about utilizing the aerial spraying.
1/17/13 - A coordinated spray is planned for the Auburndale/Lake Alfred CHMA. The spray will begin on January 21st and continue through February 4th. The selected mode of action for this application will be a Pyrethroid (Danitol or Mustang). An airplane will be available for growers to utilize. Contact grower coordinator Gary Anderson for more information on the availability of the airplane. Growers can choose which application method to use (aerial, ulv, air blast). Please follow all label instructions for the product that is chosen.
11/27/12 - The Auburndale/Lake Alfred CHMA will be conducting a coordinated psyllid control spray. The spray will begin on 11/26/12 and continue through 12/1/12. The selected Mode of Action for this Spray will be an Organophosphate (Malathion, Imidan, Dimethoate, Lorsban). Please follow all label instructions and pay close attention to the PPE requirements, Re-entry interval, and Post-harvest interval.
4/5/12 - A coordinated CHMA spray has been scheduled to begin on Monday, April 9, 2012. Local arrangements have been made with aerial and low volume contractors. For more information on application costs and scheduling contact Adam Bass (grower coordinator) at 863-207-9814. The material for this spray is malathion (or other appropriate organophosphate).
2/22/12 – Adam Bass, grower coordinator for the Auburndale/Lake Alfred CHMA will be holding a CHMA meeting at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Citrus Research and Education Center, Ben Hill Griffin Hall Meeting room 1. The meeting will cover coordination of psyllid spray applications for this year and other functions associated with managing the CHMA.
The Research Center is located at 700 Experiment Station Rd. Lake Alfred, FL
2/21/12 –There are current plan is to contract with an aerial applicator to make a coordinated psyllid spray soon after petal fall (about mid-March).
The material for this application will be an organophosphate (malathion). If interested contact Adam Bass, grower coordinator for more details.
In addition, Adam will be coordinating border sprays with growers in the CHMA every 2 weeks in-between the comprehensive coordinated CHMA sprays. If interested again please contact Adam Bass grower coordinator for Aunburndale/Lake Alfred CHMA.
11/21/11 – A coordinated psyllid application using an organophosphate is scheduled for a first week of December.
