Citrus Health Management Areas (CHMAs)
10/27/16 The next Central Florida CHMA Coordinated Insecticide Application for area-wide management of the Asian citrus psyllid is scheduled for the week of November 7 to 14, 2016. The original schedule called for the application of an organophosphate insecticide but considering the beginning of harvest season, growers may wish to apply a synthetic pyrethroid due to shorter re-entry and pre-harvest intervals.
The important factor is that growers treat as much of their acreage as possible with either a synthetic pyrethroid or organ-phosphate insecticide recommended for managing Asian citrus psyllid during the scheduled CHMA application period to enhance the demonstrated benefit of area wide applications efficiently reducing populations of this devastating citrus pest.
