LAKE ALFRED, FL (JULY 2006) – The second of four candidates applying for the Microbacteriologist Faculty position at the UF/IFAS Citrus Research and Education Center will be presenting his seminar on August 7, 2006.

Dr. Jianfa Bai, presently a Research Assistant Professor in Plant Pathology and Director of the Gene Expression Facility at Kansas State University, will be presenting his seminar entitled “Molecular Approaches in Plant-Microbe Interactions.” The seminar will be held in Room 2 of the Ben Hill Griffin Hall, CREC, Lake Alfred, at 11:00 a.m.

In 2000, Dr. Bai earned his Ph.D. in plant pathology at Kansas State University. Dr. Bai’s research has been focused on pathology and molecular biology of rice diseases. Future research interest includes a combination of molecular genetics and genomics specifically in the area of citrus greening (Huanglongbing).
