Bio sketch:
Dr. Steve Futch received his PhD in 1997 from UF in Horticulture Sciences after receiving an MBA from USF in 1986. Before that he was a citrus production manager in his family operations in Dade City, FL, an Indian River Co. Extension Agent and IR County Extension Director from 1987-90. Steve currently is the multi-county citrus agent for Hardee, DeSoto, Manatee and Sarasota counties since 1990. He has authored many citrus publications and has conducted several citrus short courses. Steve wants to provide a greater role in guiding the Florida citrus industry and his career goals include developing teams to address critical citrus issues like exotic pest and diseases, mechanical harvesting and innovative concepts in weed control.
