LAKE ALFRED, FL (SEPTEMBER 2006) – The third and final candidate, Dr. Michelle Danyluk, applying for the Assistant Professor Food Microbiologist Faculty Position at the UF/IFAS Citrus Research and Education Center will be presenting her seminar TODAY, September 6, 2006 at 11:00 a.m., Rm. 2, Ben Hill Griffin Hall. The title of her seminar is “Soil, Survival, and Salmonella: The Almond Story – Exploring the causes of an outbreak and evaluating prevention strategies.” PLEASE USE THE MAIN ENTRANCE OF BEN HILL GRIFFIN HALL DURING CONSTRUCTION.

Dr. Michelle Danyluk is currently a Postdoctoral Associate at UC Davis, where she is conducting research in the area of food microbiology. She received her Ph.D. from UC Davis in 2006. Dr. Danyluk will present her dissertation research, which involved elucidating the risk factors of Salmonella contamination in almonds, along with her ideas for potential research and extension programs in food microbiology at CREC.
