The 2nd International Citrus Economics Conference will be held October 26 and 27 at the Gaylord Palms Hotel in Orlando, Florida. Topics will be addressed that affect every aspect of the citrus industry. Long-run fruit production forecasts for Florida and Brazil, update on HLB infection rates in Florida and Brazil, another year of experience using enhanced foliar nutrient programs, effectiveness of Citrus Health Management Areas, why advanced citrus production systems offer a way to live with HLB until a cure is found, prospects for a cure for HLB, U.S. orange juice market behavior and its effect on fruit prices, enhancing demand for fresh citrus consumption, outlook for juices competing with orange juice in the marketplace, etc.
The agenda and a registration form are attached. If you plan to attend, mail the completed registration form to the address on the form with a check for $285.00 payable to the “Citrus Research and Education Foundation, Inc.” by or before October 21, 2011. Registrations received after September 16 will be on a space available basis and will be $315.00. You will need to make your own arrangements with the Gaylord Palms Hotel, 6000 W. Osceola Parkway, Kissimmee, FL 34746 (407) 586-0000. Our special group rate is $124 per night, plus applicable taxes and fees. You need to reserve your room before September 26, 2011 to insure availability at this rate.
