GIS Lab

The Geographic Information System (GIS) Laboratory was established in December 2005. It uses state of the art GIS and Global Positioning System (GPS) technology together with computers to analyze digital map data and images relating to Florida Citrus. The lab serves students and faculty in both their coursework and research. The lab operates the latest versions of ArcGIS, ArcPad, ERDAS and ArcIMS software. Services provided include geostatistical analysis, yield mapping, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), assistance with capturing GPS data and image analysis. The lab also provides instruction in the use of GIS software.
