Word Processing - Services

The Word Processing Department provides word processing and related services to UF/IFAS CREC personnel. These services include, but are not limited to:

Our word processing software is Corel WordPerfect 11.0 and Microsoft Word 2000. Other software programs used in the department include PowerPoint, Excel, OmniForm, OmniPage, Adobe Photoshop, and other programs by special request.

We provide word processing and related services for manuscripts, reports, letters/memos, grant proposals, creation of data tables, Powerpoint presentations and basic image editing.  Below is useful information on some of our services.

ADDRESS LABELS FOR MAILINGS
We can maintain addresses for mailing lists as a merge file, which can then be formatted for envelopes, labels, letters, etc.

E-MAIL LISTS
The Word Processing Department maintains e-mail lists for the following groups:
UF/IFAS Departments of Agricultural and Biological Engineering; Entomology and Nematology; Food Science and Human Nutrition; Horticultural Sciences; Plant Pathology; and Soil and Water Sciences.
Citrus Engineering Committee

We also have access to e-mail lists for citrus researchers in Florida (UF, USDA, Florida Southern, others). Contact us and we can send e-mail messages to any of these groups for you.

SCANNING AND CONVERTING DOCUMENTS TO ELECTRONIC VERSIONS
We use OmniPage software to scan hard copies of documents into word processing programs such as Microsoft Word or Corel WordPerfect.

CREATION OF ELECTRONIC FORMS
We use OmniForm software to create electronic versions of forms from hard copies, or to create entirely new forms. Below are links to electronic forms we have created with OmniForm:

The UF Sponsored Projects Approval Form (signature sheet) link should be changed to match the link on:

http://www.crec.ifas.ufl.edu/services/wordprocessing/omniforms.htm

The top version is dated 2000 and the bottom version is the correct one dated 2002.

UF/IFAS Faculty Accomplishments System (Unifas):

http://www.unifas.com/

In the bottom left-hand corner of the screen, it will have UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA USERS CLICK HERE.

When you do so, it will take you to the Log In screen.  Here you will enter your 8 digit UF ID with no spaces or hyphen.  The password will be Florida until you change it.

When you click on Log In, it will take you to the Unifas program.  Here you can click on the different areas to create or edit your Unifas file.  When you are ready to print your report, click on My Reports.  Then click Faculty Annual Report (2006)  for your 2006 report and click Plan of Work (2007) for your plan of work.

Instructions for printing your report is found in the tutorial listed below:

A tutorial for Unifas is found at: http://pdec.ifas.ufl.edu

Word Processing will not be inputting data to the Unifas system, but we will be happy to answer any questions that we can.  Barbara Thompson will be fielding these questions.  Please contact her by phone or e-mail:
