International Scholar

All J-1 Exchange Visitors must be sponsored and hosted by an applicable university department, and the invitation process must be initiated by the UF host department. Inviting a J-1 Exchange Visitor involves a host faculty sponsor and a department human resources administrative contact. The human resources team within the host department is responsible for submitting the online DS-2019 Request to EVS.

Initial applications are highly encouraged to submit the requests 60 days prior to the intended program start date. The 90 days will begin after CREC-HR receives all of the documents by both faculty and scholar. Once faculty provides items CREC-HR will reach out to the scholar for additional items required from scholar.

Supervisor to provide CREC-HR with the following items to begin the DS-2019 Request process: 

• International Scholar Invitation Form PDF [Fillable Form]
• CV/Resume of Scholar
• Acknowledgement of Faculty Sponsor Form PDF
• Optional Items from supervisor, if in your possession
  • Diploma of scholar
